⚡️🇮🇱🇵🇸🚨The Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has approved tenders for 3,401 homes in the Ma’ale Adumim colony, in the E1 area, occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, defining the initiative “a burial of the idea of the Palestinian state.”

🔻 The construction would involve land expropriations and demolitions, particularly affecting Bedouin communities such as Khan al-Ahmar, which has already been subject to forced evacuations. The E1 area, between Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim, is considered strategic for dividing the West Bank in two, interrupting the territorial continuity between East Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Ramallah.

🔻 The plan, blocked for about 20 years due to its incompatibility with international humanitarian law, would increase the colony's housing stock by 33%, which has around 38,000 residents. The project provides for a new neighborhood that will connect the residential area to the industrial area Mishor Adumim.
