⚡️🇺🇳🌡️ A new report from the United Nations Environment Programme warns that exceeding the 1.5‑degree global warming threshold is now inevitable.
🔻 The document indicates that, even in the most optimistic scenarios, temperatures will reach a peak of at least 1.8 degrees due to insufficient action.
🔻 The increase would entail critical risks such as extreme weather events, the collapse of polar ice caps, and severe damage to infrastructure, human health, and water resources.
🔻 Nevertheless, the UN stresses that it is still possible to reduce temperatures by the end of the century through a drastic cut in emissions and the abandonment of fossil fuels.
