โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ“ˆ The European Central Bank raised interest rates by 0.25 percentage points, bringing the main rate to 2.5%. It is the second increase of 2026, decided to counter the new inflation growth caused mainly by the rise in energy prices.

๐Ÿ”ปIn Italy inflation is at 3.3% on an annual basis, the highest level since September 2023. The main contributors are especially non-regulated energy goods, up 16.9%, while diesel rose 26.7% and gasoline 16.3%.

๐Ÿ”ปThe rate hike makes mortgages, loans and financing more expensive for households and businesses. President Christine Lagarde warned that inflation could be โ€œmore persistentโ€ than expected, without ruling out further hikes in the coming months.
