⚡️🇺🇸🌹The Democratic Socialists of America DSA elected five candidates supported by the organization to the House in the midterm elections, bringing the total number of DSA representatives to seven with Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez and Rashida Tlaib.

🔻 Two of them, Melat Kiros in Colorado and Darializa Avila Chevalier in New York, had already defeated the incumbent Democratic representatives Diana DeGette, in her fifteenth term, and Adriano Espaillat, president of the Hispanic Caucus, in the primaries.

🔻 The DSA claims that at least 71 of the candidates and referenda it has backed have won, including the mayors of Providence and Washington, David Morales and Janeese Lewis George.

🔻 None of the new DSA‑backed representatives has yet pledged to vote for Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House, a vote that in January could gauge the weight of the left within the Democratic Party.
