⚡️🇮🇱👤Israeli President Isaac Herzog has appointed Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar party and former Chief of Staff of the IDF, to form the new Israeli government, excluding Benjamin Netanyahu for the time being.

🔻 Eisenkot has received the support of 67 deputies out of 120 in the Knesset, against the 46 in favor of Netanyahu. His bloc, however, only holds 48 seats, while Netanyahu's bloc has 53.

🔻 The Yashar leader will have 28 days, extendable by another 14, to build a parliamentary majority of at least 61 seats. To achieve this he will need to reach an agreement with other parties, including ultra‑orthodox ones, or obtain external support from Arab forces.
