⚡️🇺🇸🇲🇽✈️ The Trump administration has imposed new restrictions on Mexican flights and threatens to cancel the strategic alliance between the US-based Delta and the Mexican Aeromexico.

🔻 Washington accuses the government of Mexico City of violating bilateral agreements by forcing airlines to move passenger and cargo flights from Benito Juárez to the more distant Felipe Ángeles airport. From now on, all Mexican airlines will have to obtain authorization from the US Department of Transportation to operate.

🔻 The breakdown of the agreement, in place since 2016, would put at risk 24 routes and around $800 million in bilateral economic benefits. Delta and Aeromexico have announced a possible legal response, while the order will not be effective until October.
