⚡️🇩🇪🏭Volkswagen is reportedly considering up to 100,000 job cuts globally and the closure of four plants in Germany, in one of the group's largest restructuring plans.

🔻 The plan, which will have to be discussed by the supervisory board on July 9, would expand on the previous target of 50,000 job cuts and would affect the plants in Hannover, Zwickau, Emden and the Audi plant in Neckarsulm.

🔻 The group justifies the restructuring with the competition from Chinese producers, US tariffs, the decline in European demand and the transition to electric.

🔻 IG Metall and the representatives of the workers have announced opposition to the plan, asking for job guarantees and accusing the group of dumping the costs of the crisis on the workforce.
