โก๏ธ๐ฎ๐น๐ท๐ The Milan Prosecutor's Office has acquired documents from a dozen luxury brands, including Chanel, Moncler, Bulgari, Brunello Cucinelli and Etro, as part of an investigation into the exploitation of labor in the fashion supply chain.
๐ปThe investigators want to verify whether the fashion houses have exercised effective controls on their suppliers and sub-suppliers, after the discovery of workshops where workers, mainly Chinese, were employed in the black, without a residence permit or in conditions considered gravely irregular.
๐ปNone of the companies are currently under investigation. The investigation aims, however, to ascertain whether the audit, surveillance and organization systems adopted by the major brands were really suitable to intercept and prevent exploitation along the chain of subcontracts.
